ABOUT ME

“I made tons of films. I did animation for my friends’ films. I animated scenes just for the fun of it. Most of my stuff was bad, but I had fun, and I tried everything I knew to get better.” – Pete Docter

Character Animation

John Foy

Hi, my name is John Foy and I'm a professional 2D character artist/ animator. I am very passionate about character animation especially that of the human form which I have spent the majority of my time studying in order to improve and refine the anatomy and movements of the humanoid figures that I animate in my projects. My love for character animation began while watching animated TV shows and films. While watching I would break down the movements and poses instead of solely focusing on the story, I would then try to replicate them myself in my own animations to varying degrees of success. But now thanks to lots of practice and learning from my mistakes I am at a point where I am happy with what I am able to produce as I have learned over time how to properly utilise all of the animation principles to really make my animation pop and look fluid.

I am always looking to improve my work, and I plan to do this through constant practice of the principles of animation throughout my current and future projects.
